Moscow Art Theatre

The Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre (Russian Московский художественный театр им А П Чехова, .. . Well as MCHAT known, an abbreviation of Московский художественный академический театр ) is founded in 1898 by Konstantin Stanislavsky and Vladimir Nemirovich -Danchenko naturalism Theatre Ensemble in the Russian capital Moscow.

History

The theater quickly gained notoriety as it the four major works, beginning with Tsar Fyodor Joannowitsch by Alexei Tolstoy and The Seagull, the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov aufführte.

In 1902, the Russian writer Maxim Gorky was recruited as employees. His play The Lower Depths - Scenes from the depths was premiered in 1902 by the co-founder of Stanislavsky.

The Russian actress Vera Baranowskaja graduated at MCHAT their training and appeared there from 1903 to 1915.

From 1970 to 2000, the theater of Oleg Yefremov was conducted.

Since 2000, directs the Moscow Art Theatre Oleg Tabakow that uses a seagull as a mascot. Since 2004, the theater got its present name. The theater building is located away from the Red Square near the Tverskaya Street, just a few blocks northwest.
