Moshe Carmel

Moshe Carmel (Hebrew משה כרמל, born January 17, 1911 in Minsk Mazowiecki, Empire Russia; † August 14, 2003 in Tel Aviv, Israel) was an Israeli politician and minister.

Life

At age 13, immigrated to Israel in Carmel and established the kibbutz Na'an with. He was active in the Zionist youth movement Histadrut ha - ha - No'ar Owed we- ha - Lomed.

In the Israeli War of Independence in 1948 after the Israeli Declaration of Independence, he was Commander of the Carmeli Brigade (Hebrew חטיבת כרמלי ) Chatiwat Karmeli, also 2nd Brigade, former 165th Brigade, a reserve infantry brigade of the IDF, part of the Northern Command, which at surgery Hiram (Hebrew מבצע חירם ) was used.

Policy

He was member of the Knesset from the 3rd to the 8th parliamentary term, from 1955 to 1965 for Ahdut Haavoda for HaMa'arach 1965-1968, 1968-1969 and 1969-1977 for Avodah again for HaMa'arach. From 1948 to 1967, he was Israeli Minister of Transport.
