Mossynoeci

The Mossynoiker ( gr Μοσ ( σ ) ύνοικοι Mos ( s ) ýnoikoi " wooden tower residents ", lat Mossyn ( oec ) i) had a small Asiatic tribe on the southeastern coast of the Black Sea. Their settlement area lay west of Kerasus and was the Chalybern and Tibarenern adjacent. Together with the Tibarenern, macro agents, Moschern and MarErn they formed the 19th satrapy of the Persian Empire.

The Mossynoiker were considered by ancient authors as warlike and uncivilized. So says Apollonius of Rhodes ( Argonautica 2.1019 to 1025 ) that they copulated in public.
