Mother Russia

Mother Russia (Russian Матушка Россия ) is the national personification of Russia, which is used in the Russian Empire and after the disintegration of the USSR and in Russia today. The most common Mother Russia was to be found on propaganda posters and songs. After the transformation of the Russian Empire in the multi-ethnic state Soviet Union allegory Mother Russia was transformed by the Soviet propaganda in the mother's home. In honor of the Soviet armed forces were built several statues that depict the mother's home.
