Motion Interpolation

Motion interpolation (English for " motion interpolation " ) is a form of video processing, such as are used in the motion compensation calculated intermediate images using mathematical algorithms and inserted between the existing images.

Motion interpolation is used to reduce the motion blur in films on playback devices. By interframe it comes to so-called soap opera effect.

The calculation of the intermediate images results in a slight time delay relative to the signal source. This can lead to asynchronies between sound and image in a separate sound. For computer or console games thus decreases the reaction time of the player.
