The Sheffield Arena, 2002-2007 Hallam FM Arena, is a multi-purpose arena in Sheffield, United Kingdom. The arena is also for sporting events venue for concerts. The Sheffield Steelers of the Elite Ice Hockey League play their home games in the arena.

History

The arena was opened on 30 May 1991. Immediately after the completion of the Hockey Team Sheffield Steelers was founded, which should deliver its home games in the arena and this makes even since the opening of the Sheffield Arena. Parallel from 1994 to 2004 played the Sheffield Sharks of the British Basketball League in the arena, but rallied for lack of spectator interest in the much smaller and nearby English Institute of Sport. From the WWE wrestling events are shown in Sheffield regularly, which are visited by up to 11,000 spectators.

In addition to numerous concerts, the show Disney on Ice is regularly demonstrated in Sheffield.
