The Mount Arrowsmith is a mountain in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The part belonging within the Vancouver Iceland Ranges for Beaufort Range mountain is around 15 kilometers east of Port Alberni on Vancouver Iceland. Around the Mountain is a 1,300 -acre regional park. Also, the mountain forms the core region of an approximately 1,200 square kilometer UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, which includes in addition to approximately 800 square kilometers of land also 400 square kilometers of coastline on the Strait of Georgia.

History

The mountain was probably the end of the Triassic.

The white history of the Mount Arrowsmith begins with his appointment in 1853 by the Engl. Naval officer George Henry Richards. Namesake of the mountain are the English cartographer Aaron Arrowsmith and his nephew John Arrowsmith.

His first ascent was in 1887 by the English botanist John Macoun.

Flora and Fauna
