Mount Franklin (Tasman)

Mount Franklin is a 2340 m (some sources give 2327 m also on ) high mountain in the Nelson Lakes National Park in the New Zealand region Tasman. He is the northernmost and highest of the four mountains in New Zealand, which bear the name "Mount Franklin ".

The mountain is located 15 km south of Lake Rotoroa and is only 2 feet higher than nearby Mount Travers. The mountain is part of the Franklin Ridge, the northernmost part of the St James Range. This ridge separates the valleys of the eastern and western branch of the Sabine River.

The mountain was named by geologist Julius von Haast during his time as a geologist province Canterbury in honor of Rear Admiral John Franklin, former Governor of Tasmania.
