Mount Kapudzhukh

Kaputdschugh of South East ( July 1991)

The mountain Kaputdschugh ( Կապուտջուղ Armenian, Azerbaijani Qapıcıq Dagi also Kaputdschuch of Russian Капутджух ) is the highest at 3905 m summit of Sangesurkammes on the border between Armenia ( Syunik ) and Azerbaijan ( Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic ). He is the highest mountain Nachitschewans and the second highest mountain in Armenia.

The massif is slightly glaciated and sometimes year-round snow. There are a greater number of Corrie lakes. On the eastern flank of the mountain springs of the same name Kaputdschuch, one of the headwaters of the weekend draw, a left tributary of the Aras. In a southeasterly direction to close the next highest peak of Sangesurkammes to, Sissakapar and Parawan (each 3826 m).

To the east of the mountain is a good 10 kilometers away on the Armenian side, the mining town Kadscharan.
