Mount Menzies

The Mount Menzies is a mountain in Antarctica, the Australian Antarctic Territory, an outdoor area of Australia. With 3555 meters it is the highest mountain of the 400 -kilometer-long mountain range in the Prince Charles Mountains. Mount Menzies lies between Mount Mather and Mount Bayliss and rises on the south side of Fisher Glacier. Mount Menzies was discovered in 1956 by Flight Officer J. Seaton as part of a flight, the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions ( ANARA ). From 1957 to 1958, the Mount Menzies was mapped by a ANARA expedition, KB Mather and seismically investigated.

The mountain was named after the Australian Prime Minister Robert Menzies ( term 1939-1941; 1949-1966 ) named.
