Mr. Belvedere is an American sitcom that was produced from 1985 to 1990 from the ABC. The figures are based on the 1947 novel, Belvedere by Gwen Davenport.

Content

The life experienced Briton Mr. Lynn Belvedere, after a career as a butler numerous statesmen (such as Winston Churchill) employed as a factotum in the budget of the Owens family from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

Parents - George Owens, who has worked as a sports reporter, and his wife Marsha - are heavily involved professionally and studied both a housekeeper as well as point of contact for their children Heather, Wesley and Kevin.

Surprising is the humorous and often cynical Mr. Belvedere integrated into family life and the estimated counselor in all situations. At the end of every episode he considers the day's events and his thoughts in a diary.

Humor

The series lives on the cynical asides Mr. Belvedere, who are never hurtful, however.

Running Gags

  • Heather's best friend Angela Chatsikovich never manages to remember Mr. Belvedere's last name, instead she calls him, for example, "Mr. Bell Pepper " or " Mr. Velveeta ".
  • Mr. Belvedere amused himself regularly on Wesley's best friend Miles Knobnoster because it bears a striking braces.

Gwen Davenport created the character of Mr. Belvedere in her 1947 novel, Belvedere, the first film adaptation was the black and white film Sitting Pretty from the year 1948. Walter Lang led thereby directing for 20th Century Fox.

Mr. Belvedere was played by Clifton Webb, who won an Oscar as best actor for the interpretation of this role. He played this role in two other films, Mr. Belvedere Goes to College ( 1949), and Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell ( 1951).
