Mr. Bloe

Mr. Bloe was a British musical project from the early 1970s.

Prehistory

Had started the whole thing in 1969 when the singer Tony Orlando, who had already had a few hits in the early 60s and later with Dawn would become famous, with a studio project called Wind the title of Make Believe recorded. Band member and songwriter Kenny Laguna wrote together with Bo Gentry and Paul Naumann for the B-side instrumental title Groovin ' with Mr. Bloe. Make Believe reached number 28 in the U.S. charts.

Mr. Bloe

The single also reached to England, where, however, pushed the B- side of greater interest. Pianist Zack Lawrence took to the track with studio musicians on new and called the project Mr. Bloe. The most important part here was the well-known harmonica player Harry Pitch, the real "Mr. Bloe ", who had been involved already in the recordings of many famous pop stars such as Frank Ifield, Cliff Richard and Val Doonican. The piece became a surprise hit, reaching # 2 on the charts in the UK. But the superhit In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry prevented the jump right to the top. In other countries, the instrumental was very successful in Germany it reached # 7 in Switzerland ranked 4th

Then there were other recordings such as Curried Soul, but despite the support of Elton John as a song writer with Mr. Bloe were neither more singles nor the album Groovin ' again in the charts. Then Lawrence turned the project back on.

Lawrence is also known as a bandleader and took with his Big Band on other boards. Harry Pitch played including a few very successful TV tunes and is also very well known as a jazz musician.
