Machinery and drive

When Annie Johnson, the ship was equipped with a diesel-mechanical machinery, in which four built by Wärtsilä under license Pielstick PC2- diesel engines were utilized. Depending on a 16-cylinder and 12- cylinder engine formed a motor group who worked on pitch propellers via gear and shafting.

With the conversion of a cruise ship, the Pielstick engines were replaced by four smooth-running six- cylinder in-line Wärtsilä 46 engines of the type. To produce a comparable performance, these motors running at a reduced speed of 450 rpm only.
