The Formosa Queen is a cruise ship that was built in 1970 as a Song of Norway for Royal Caribbean International.

History

The Queen Formosa was built in 1970 as the Song of Norway in Helsinki and was the first new building of the Royal Caribbean International. In the 1970s, cruises have become more popular, which is why the ship was extended in 1978 to almost 30 meters to accommodate more passengers. The ship was then the first cruise ship, which was extended by the incorporation of a section. In 1996 the ship was replaced by the new Vision - class and sold to Sun Cruises, who used it as Sundream. In 2004, the ship was modernized, renamed Dream Princess and sold to the Israeli shipping company Caspi Cruises. As of 2006, the ship was only a legend. 2007, it was chartered to Peaceboat, the first inserting the ship as Clipper Pearl and then as Clipper Pacific off the coast of Japan. Originally planned Peaceboat to perform with the ship traveling around the world. However, due to technical problems, this tour had to be canceled in Piraeus. Caspi Cruises sold the ship in 2011 at Quail Travel 's Happy Cruises. The ship was renamed after a new modernization in Ocean Pearl and used for cruises in South America. In September 2011, the Ocean Pearl was decommissioned and put up for sale. In April 2012 it was sold to an unknown shipping company in China, which renamed the ship in Formosa queen and wanted to convert to a casino ship. This project, however, failed and the ship was sold for scrapping in November 2013 to an unknown Abwracker in China, where it is currently being scrapped.
