The Silver Explorer is a cruise ship of Silversea Cruises.

History

In the ship there is a built in Finland in 1989 former ferry, the first wrong as Delfin Clipper in the Baltic Sea.

The shipping company Society Expeditions, based in Bremen acquired the ferry in May 2000 after the loss of their ship World Discoverer of Samsung Electronics. She left the ship in a shipyard in Singapore rebuild and put it in April 2002 as a new World Discoverer cruise into service. Areas were the islands of the South Pacific, the Far East of Russia and Alaska and Antarctica. With the bankruptcy of the company ended in 2004, the use of the ship. There was initially some time in Singapore.

The cruise line Silversea Cruises acquired the ship on 17 September 2007 by Sembawang Shipyard and had it altered by Fincantieri in Monfalcone for use in the Pacific. Since 1 June 2008, designed for 111 crew members and 132 passengers was operated as a ship Prince Albert II and renamed Silver Explorer 2011.
