The Translandia is a ferry that of the Finnish Eckerö Line (daughter of the Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö ) of 18 May 2004 to 30 December 2012 at traffic between Helsinki Vuosaari ( port in the eastern part of the city) and Tallinn ( D- Terminal in Vanasadam - dt old Port ) was used. The larger Nordlandia Eckerö Line fleet sailed, however, since 1998 the West Harbour, Länsisatama. In March 2013, the ferry to Salem Al Makrani Cargo was sold, and the ship is employed in the Middle East.

History

The ship was built in 1976 under the hull number 792 of the German JJ Sietas in Hamburg and delivered on 30 October 1976 to the Poseidon nautical oHG in Lübeck. Since then, the ship changed hands several times the owner and carried different names:

  • Trans Germania (1976-1993)
  • Rosebay (1993-1995)
  • Euro Star (1995-1997)
  • Euro Cruiser (1997-1998)
  • Rosebay (1998-2001)
  • Trans Parade (2001-2004)
