The Mud is a 25 km long liberal and southern tributary of the Main. Its upper course is also called Mudau or Mudbach.
Geography
Course
The river rises in the eastern Odenwald Mud west of Mudau. However, this upper reaches is often dry, so that the stream bed until the water stream (position ) 49.5312989.199338 in Mudau leads water. The Mud by then flows in a northerly constantly run the Ünglerttal. East of Kirchzell their flows to the slightly longer fork creek.
