Classification into a musical genre

The classification of Münchener Freiheit in a musical genre falls unusually heavy. While the native of the German New Wave band was seen in the 1980s and early 1990s, rather than pop band and regularly in relevant youth magazines such as Bravo and in TV shows such as Formula One and Wetten, dass ...? almost exclusively in hit programs showed up, it occurs since the mid- 1990s. It is the same with the radio: their hits were used to play mainly in the Rock-/Pop-Sendern, so they appear today, at least with their current productions mainly in the pop stations ( NDR 1, SWR4 etc.). Unmistakable are still strong influences of the Beatles and the Beach Boys. Live beats the band considerably rockier sounds, as you would expect from their studio recordings - it has developed, particularly in recent years back to a routine, but playful live band.
