Municipal police (Spain)

As Local Police is called the local police authorities in Spain.

They take care of the lower aspects of police work, especially traffic police tasks on roads in built-up areas, on which the Policia Trafico is not responsible.

In areas where the effectiveness of national roads through built-up areas, the tasks are usually divided between Local Police and Policia Trafico.

In addition, responsibilities will include how the backup of events on the tasks of the Local Police, usually have the officials of the Local Police there but lack of emergency services only operational control, while the actual deployment of forces of the Guardia Civil is performed.
