Muriel Duckworth

Muriel Duckworth ( born October 31, 1908 in Quebec City, † August 22 2009 in Magog, Quebec as Muriel Helena Ball) was a Canadian pacifist.

Duckworth was a member of the religious community of the Quakers; After graduating from McGill University in Montreal, she studied 1929/30, at Union Theological Seminary in New York. From 1967, she worked for four years chairman of the peace organization Canadian Voice of Women for Peace ( VOW ); they also participated in the founding of the Canadian Council for International Co -operation, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty. She was one of the most famous pacifists Canada. In 1983 she was awarded the Order of Canada.
