Murjek

Murjek ( Sami: Muorjek ) is a small place ( småort ) in Northern Sweden and is situated about five kilometers south of the Arctic Circle, 100 km north of Luleå and 60 km south-east of Jokkmokk. It belongs to the municipality of Jokkmokk in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historic province of Lapland.

Murjek is the only stop on the iron ore railway from Luleå to Narvik in the municipality of Jokkmokk. There are several daily passenger trains stop here. By bus There is a connection to Jokkmokk. The journey takes about an hour.

In the village there is a youth hostel. The nearest airports are Luleå and Kiruna.
