Murray Henderson (ice hockey)

John Murray " Moe" Henderson ( born September 5, 1921 in Toronto, Ontario; † 4 January 2013) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach. On the position of the defender, he played in the years 1944 to 1952 in 446 appearances for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League.

Life

Moe Henderson played in his youth hockey with the Toronto Young Rangers. In 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed on the Pacific coast, where he flew patrols. He was two years later, released after his father's death from the Air Force. Following his career in the NHL, he was for four seasons, player-manager of the Hershey Bears game with operating in the American Hockey League.

Moe Henderson is the nephew of the Conacher brothers - Roy Conacher, Lionel Conacher and Conacher, Charlie - who all were included in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
