Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino

The Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino ( Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art) is a museum in Santiago de Chile, which houses an extensive collection of works of art from Central and South America from the time before European discovery. This is one of the most important museums of this cultural area. The exhibits are part of over 5000 years old and are often animal or human figures made of different materials. There are also mummies, pottery and grass weavings.

The museum was opened in 1981 and goes back to the private collection of Sergio Larraín García- Moreno. The museum also features changing exhibitions. It also houses a library for research purposes.
