Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles

The Museum of Contemporary Art ( MOCA ) is located in Los Angeles, California.

The complex in the Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles is a playful arrangement of red, geometric blocks and a design by architect Arata Isozaki, who described him as a "small village in the valley of skyscrapers ." In addition to works by Franz Kline, Mark Rothko, Robert Rauschenberg and Claes Oldenburg, as well as works by Antoni Tàpies, the museum houses a collection of paintings and sculptures of some new Californian artist encountered again in many important galleries in the city.

In further east, " Geffen Contemporary ", 152 North Central Avenue, a former repair shop for police car, the slightly more avant-garde works of the MOCA show. Another site of the museum is the " Pacific Design Center" in 8687 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, with exhibitions of contemporary architecture and design.

The museum was conducted from 1 June 2010 to the summer of 2013 by the New York gallery owner and art dealer Jeffrey Deitch. 2014 became the leader of New York's Dia Art Foundation, Philippe Vergne, was appointed the new director of MOCA.
