Museum of Cultural History, Oslo

Kulturhistorisk Museum ( KHM) is a museum of the University of Oslo.

The main building of today's Kulturhistorisk Museum in 1897 following a decision of the Storting, a new museum building to build a State Historical Museum in Oslo to build designed by the Norwegian architect Henrik Bull built in Art Nouveau style. Starting in 1999, several museums were summarized and under the name Universitetets kulturhistoriske Museer refounded. Among the museum Oldsaksamlingen ( What the Vikingskipshuset at Bygdøy belongs ) and the Museum Myntkabinettet and Etnografisk Museum. In 2004, the name of the museum was changed to Kulturhistorisk museum.

Egil Mikkelsen was founded in 1999 as the first director of the museum. The Danish anthropologist Rane Wilerslev took over the position on November 1, 2011.
