Musikari Kombo

Musikari Nazi Kombo ( born March 13, 1944) is a Kenyan politician.

Biography

After visiting the Misiku Primary School, Mumias High School and the Nyeri High School, he studied economics at the University of Nairobi and graduated with a Bachelor of Science ( BSEcon. ) from. He then worked as an entrepreneur.

In 1990 he was one of the founders of the Forum For The Restoration Of Democracy - Kenya ( FORD -K), whose leader he was. He was first elected Member of Parliament in 1992, where he held until 2007 represented the interests of the constituency Webuye after his reelection in 1997, and on 27 December 2002.

In January 2003 he was first deputy minister ( Assistant Minister ), before he was in 2004 for some time Minister for National Development in the government of President Mwai Kibaki. On November 18, 2006 Kibaki appointed him as Minister of Local Government again in his government, to which he belonged, this time until January 2008. Successor as Minister of Local Government was Uhuru Kenyatta, the chairman of KANU.

Kombo, who is now a member of the Party of National Unity ( PNU) of President Kibaki, was not re-elected despite his nomination as a member of Parliament on December 27, 2007.
