Mustafa Kalemli
Mustafa Kalemli ( born March 26, 1943 in Tavşanlı, Kütahya ) is a Turkish doctor and politician.
Kalemli graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ankara and started at the Department of Urology to work as an assistant. He became a specialist in urology in 1972. Between 1976 and 1978 Kalemli worked in the Ministry of Health. In 1978 he became a lecturer and participated in the founding of the Medical Faculty of Akdeniz Üniversitesi. Kalemli was Chairman of the Department of Urology and a member of the University Board of Akdeniz Üniversitesi. He was also a founding senior physician at the SSK Tavşanlı hospital. 1983 Kalemli was head of the Urology Hospital in Buca.
In the parliamentary elections of November 6, 1983 Kalemli was elected to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the Anavatan Partisi ( ANAP ) to the deputies of the province of Kütahya. Between 1983 and 1986 he was Minister of Labour and Social Security. Between 1986 and 1987 Kalemli was minister for health and social assistance. After he was elected in 1987 for the second time as a deputy of Kütahya Province, he was appointed Minister of the Interior.
After he took this office was Kalemli a member of the Turkish Parliament Group of Deputies Parliament of Europe. Later he was a member and Vice President in the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission.
On 24 June 1991 Kalemli was in the Yilmaz government for the second time Secretary. On August 26, 1991, he was Minister of the newly established Ministry of Forest. In the parliamentary elections of 1995, he was re-elected and was between 1996 and 1997 President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Kalemli was in the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th legislative period deputy of Kütahya Province.
He is married and father of two children.
