Mutual Benefit (band)

Mutual Benefit is a music project by the songwriter Jordan Lee. The band consists of changing members. There is no fixed occupation. The first LP of the band Love's Crushing Diamond was highly praised. The Magazine Stereogum led Mutual Benefit in the category "Band to Watch", Pitchfork under " best new music". Musicians who have contributed to Mutual Benefit, are Marc Mirza, Jake Falby, Cory Siegler, Virginia de las Pozas, Julie Byrne, Cameron Potter, George Folickman, Dillon Zahner, Andrew Morehart, Katie Pierce, Will Bradley and Samuel Yager.

History

Mutual Benefit was founded in 2009 as a music project, while Jordan Lee lived in Austin, Texas. Finally, he moved to Boston to meet with musicians with whom he wanted to play. The members of the band to fluctuate around Lee. The cast during the 2011 Tour consisted of musicians who were just expendable. On the tour late 2011, the recording of the album Love's Crushing Diamond, which were finally completed in Texas began. The album was released on Bandcamp on 7 October 2013. It was the first Bandcamp album ever, which was named "Best New Music" recommended in Pitchfork. A longer tour is planned for early 2014.
