N'Guelbély

N'Guelbély (also: Nguel Bély, N'Guelbeyli, N'Guel Beyli ) is a rural municipality in the Department Maïné - Soroa in Niger.

Geography

N'Guelbély lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Tesker in the north, N'Gourti in the northeast, Foulatari in the east, Maïné - Soroa in the south and Goudoumaria in the southwest. The municipality is divided into the administrative village N'Guelbély, five camps and two water points. The main town of the country church is the administrative village N'Guelbély.

History

The rural community N'Guelbély originated as an administrative unit in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform, when the area of the Canton Maïné - Soroa was divided between the municipalities Foulatari, Maïné - Soroa and N'Guelbély.

Population

At the 2001 census N'Guelbély had 1000 inhabitants. For the year 2010 1367 population were calculated.

Economy and infrastructure

The community is located at the junction of the zone of Agropastoralismus of the South to the zone of pure pastoral economy of the North.
