Nabil Ayouch

Nabil Ayouch ( born April 1, 1969 in Paris ) is a French- Moroccan director.

Biography

Ayouchs mother is French Tunisian- Jewish descent, his father Muslim Moroccans. His brother is the director Hicham Ayouch.

After various theater and directing courses Ayouch worked as an assistant director, realized commercials and eventually turned the first award-winning short films, including Les Pierres Bleues du desert with Jamel Debbouze. In 1997 he directed his first feature film Mektoub, which became a box office hit in Morocco and the country should be represented at the Oscars 1998. His second feature film from the year 2000 - Ali Zaoua - Prince de la Rue - has also received numerous awards and selected as the representative of Morocco for the Academy Awards.

In 2012, his film Les Chevaux de Dieu ran ( The Horse of God) at the film festival in Cannes in the Un Certain Regard, and was also awarded there.
