Nachoem Wijnberg

Nachoem Mesoelam ( Nachoem ) Wijnberg ( born April 13, 1961 in Amsterdam, Netherlands ) is a high school teacher and poet and author from the Netherlands.

Life

Nachoem Mesoelam ( Nachoem ) Wijnberg studied law and economics at the University of Amsterdam in 1990 and received his doctorate at the Rotterdam School of Management.

Wijnberg has taught since 2005 at the University of Amsterdam.

Authorship

In 1989 he published his first work, the collection De simulatie van de Schepping from the Poetry Series De Windroos. Since then he has published fourteen books of poetry and four novels. His awards includes virtually every poetry prize with which the Netherlands boast. That makes him one of the most important Dutch poets of the present. In January 2004 he was awarded the Jan- Campert - prijs for Eerst dit dan dat and 2008 Ida Gerhardt Poëzieprijs for songs.
