News was a Soviet German -language daily newspaper in the Volga German Republic. She was a member of the CPSU and was published from 1918 until 1941.

History

The newspaper was first published in March 1918 under the name forward and was published by the German police station in Saratov. A year later, the forward has been merged with the since 1916 appearing in Katharinenstadt Journal communist. The newspaper was subsequently renamed as " news," the edition at that time was about 2,500. 1922 pulled the editors of Saratov city by Cossack (today's angel ) to which publication was changed to daily.

In the following years the circulation rose sharply, however, had to be limited due to shortage of paper in 1931 to a value of about 25,000.

With the beginning of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, the situation for the Volga Germans changed dramatically. The Volga German Republic was dissolved, the German -born residents deported to Central Asia and Siberia. On August 30, 1941, the Journal nor the decree "On the resettlement of the Germans living in the Volga districts " of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet reprinted. After that, the newspaper was dissolved.
