The Nadym (Russian Надым ) is a 545 km long tributary of the Kara Sea in western Siberia (Russia, Asia).

Course

The Nadym entfließt in the 105 m at the Siberian ridge ( Sibirskije Uwaly ) in the northwest of the West Siberian Plain located Numtosee. The river flows through the lowlands first northeasterly, then northwesterly direction to its confluence with the Obbusen the Kara Sea, just a little east of the mouth of the Ob. Hydrographic

Economy and infrastructure

The Nadym is navigable to the lower 123 kilometers from the city named after him Nadym.

The catchment area is the large natural gas deposit Medweschje. The river is full of fish, for example, to Peledmaränen.

With the exception of the area around the city Nadym flowed through the territory is sparsely populated. End of the 1940s began with the construction of the Arctic Circle railway, which should cross the river in the area of ​​at that time not yet existing city Nadym. The bridge was never built in the 1950s, remained unfinished route, however, until the early 1980s prepared on the section east of Nadym for freight. It was at settlement Stary Nadym ("old Nadym ", today the few kilometers distant from the opposite bank Nadym district ) good six kilometers downstream out of the originally planned crossing of the river approach.

Along the Nadym and its tributary the left Chetta reached a coming of Beloyarsky street, the city Nadym. A planned fixed road bridge has not been built: in the summer the traffic is passed over a pontoon bridge in winter over the ice of the river.

South of the city Nadym the river is crossed by a series of pipelines leading from the North West Siberian oil and gas fields in the European part of Russia and on to Western Europe (and Urengoy Center I and II, Urengoy - Uzhgorod, Jamburg - Yelets I and II, "Progress", Jamburg - Tula I and II, Jamburg - Povolzhye ).
