Nagawado Dam

The Nagawado Dam (Japanese奈川 渡 ダム~ damu ) is a dam in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It is located at the former municipal boundary between the 2005 eingemeindeten to Matsumoto villages Azumi and Nagawa.

The Azusa River ( upper reaches of the Sai belongs to the river system of the Shinano ) is dammed by a 155 m high arch dam to a reservoir with 123 million cubic meters capacity and 2.74 square kilometers. A hydroelectric power plant generates electricity by 623 megawatts.
