Naguanagua

Naguanagua is a city in the state of Carabobo in the north of Venezuela.

It lies to the north of Valencia, had in 2002 about 168 224 inhabitants and is the seat of the district (Municipio ).

Some buildings of the Universidad de Carabobo are in Naguanagua.

History

Originally inhabited the Indian culture Valencioide this region. The name Naguanagua shall mean abundance of water. Naguanagua as a city was founded on May 14, 1782 by the Bishop of Caracas Don Mariano Martí. At the end of the twentieth century, the city grew in space along with Valencia.
