Nahal settlement

Nahal settlements. (Hebrew: היאחזות נח"ל, Hiahzut Nahal ) were settlements that were founded by the Nahal troops in Israel and in territories occupied by Israel, the main focus of the Nahal Brigade was on the support of the growth and expansion of Jewish settlements throughout Israel. the goal of any Nahal settlement it was about to go into a civilian settlement. This method of settlement construction has been particularly successful in rather inhospitable areas like the Negev, in the Galilee, the Aravasenke and after the Six -Day War, also in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights and the Sinai Peninsula. the first Nahal settlement was Nahal Oz in the northwestern Negev, near the border with the Gaza Strip. much of today's kibbutzim were originally Nahal settlements, of which the majority are now aligned civil to 100 %. the last Nachal settlement was closed in 2001.
