Nalumino Mundia

Nalumino Mundia (* 1927 in Lozi, † 1988) was a Zambian politician and Prime Minister.

After independence in 1964, he was appointed by President Kenneth Kaunda as Minister of Industry and Trade. In 1966 he resigned from the government. Founded by him in 1963 the United Party (UP), after unrest in the so-called " copper belt " ( Copperbelt ) Zambia in August 1968 banned by President Kaunda and arrested Mundia and other leading politicians of UP. 1969 Mundia was released from prison.

In 1972 he was again a member of the National Assembly and Vice- President of the "African National Congress ' ( ANC). In 1974, he joined then in the Unity Party UNIP the President.

On February 18, 1981, he was appointed by President Kaunda as the successor of Daniel Lisulo prime minister. This office he held until April 24, 1985 as he was replaced by Kebby Musokotwane. Subsequently, he was appointed ambassador to the United States.
