Narcissus tazetta var chinensis

The bouquet of daffodil (Narcissus tazetta ), also sacred lily, daffodil or Multiflorous Tazette called, is a species of the genus narcissus ( Narcissus) within the family of Amaryllis ( Amaryllidaceae ). The scientific name tazetta ( Italian, " cuppa" ) refers to the shape of the corona.

Description

Bouquet of Daffodils are perennial herbaceous plants that form as outlasting onions, with some contractile roots. You can reach stature heights of up to 30 cm. Unlike other species, it is not frost resistant.

The flowers are white and have at its center an occasional colored corona. This species belongs to the daffodils, in which the flowers are not individually on an inflorescence stem, but from December to March, it has up to five flowers on a doldigen inflorescence ( hence their name ).

Dissemination

The bouquet daffodil is native to the Mediterranean region ( southern Europe and North Africa). This makes it the furthest south occurring Narzissenart. Wild populations are also found in Iran and Kashmir. At least in Kashmir, these must be regarded as established.
