Plan and elevation of the castle

The Nardaran Castle is a castle on the peninsula Absheron in place Nardaran, which was part of the chain attachment on the peninsula. It is one of the best preserved castles of Apsheron. The castle was built in 1301 by master builder Mahmud ibn Saad.

Castle

The five -meter-thick walls of the castle almost form a square at the corners are round bastions. On the wall, a transition with parapet, which is broken, all five feet of loopholes runs. In the middle of de courtyard is a three-storey residential tower, whose top floor served the defense. The spiral staircase begins on the first floor, the rooms are completed by stone arches. The walls of the tower are plastered.
