Narke capensis

The sleepers skate ( Narkidae ( Gr. " narke " = paralysis) ) are one and live in the western Pacific in the Indian Ocean group of jitter Roche -like ( Torpediniformes ) that gets depending on the author, the rank of a family or subfamily.

Features

Sleeper rays are 18 centimeters to half a meter long. Your body disc is rounded at the front with usually a dorsal fin on the caudal peduncle. The rostrum is narrow and rod-shaped. The eyes are small, the jaws strong, very short and only little vorstreckbar ( protractil ). The lips are reinforced with cartilage, around the mouth is a shallow groove. Are the electric organs that have evolved from muscles on the sides of the head.
