Naroulia

Narovlya is a city in Belarus in the Homelskaja Woblasz near the Ukrainian border. The city is adjacent to the Pripyat and is connected by a highway with the cities Mazyr and Jelsk.

History

They said to have been inhabited since the 18th century according to archaeological sources. 1793 was added to the Russian Empire in the second partition of Poland. Narovlya was part of the Pale of Settlement in 1600 and housed Jewish people .. 1971 were awarded their municipal rights. The city is heavily affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
