Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Wenecja

The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Wenecja (Polish: Muzeum Kolejki Wąskotorowej Wenecja ) is a Polish railway museum for 600 -mm narrow-gauge railways in Wenecja at Żnin along the route of the former Żniner circular path.

The museum was opened in 1972. The museum for 600 - mm - gauge engines in Wenecja is a division of the adjacent Museum of Pałuker country to Żnin (Muzeum Ziemi Pałuckiej ). The museum houses numerous steam locomotives. One of the oldest was made in 1900 by Orenstein & Koppel in Berlin. Also interesting are the Tx -1116 locomotive Henschel & Sohn (Kassel, 1918) and the Tx4 -564 locomotive of Hanomag (Hannover, year 1923).

A great rarity is a Belgian locomotive which was manufactured by Les Ateliers Metallurgiques Nivelles. It has the wheel arrangement 2'C1 ' ( "Pacific " ), and is the only one with steam brakes. Similarly, there are steam locomotives that were manufactured in the first Polish railway station in Chrzanów.

The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Wenecja is on the edge of the medieval castle, which was built in the 14th century by Mikołaj NALECZ. It is possible the narrow gauge railway from Żnin with the Zniner circular path about Wenecja to travel ( train station to the museum ) to Biskupin.
