Nashville West

Nashville West was a native of California country band, which is considered one of the pioneers of country -rock.

History

1966 found Gib Guilbeau and Gene Parsons, who had previously been members of a band called The Casteways along to a recording session with the Gosdin Brothers. Increasingly she was by the renowned guitarist Clarence White, who had previously played with the Kentucky Colonels. A little later the bassist Wayne Moore was added, who had also played in the Casteways. The quartet was. The group eventually changed their name into Nashville West and worked as a studio band for the newly developed Bakersfield International Records label. The four musicians were involved in several shots of the small, conducted by Gary Paxton, labels. She also had appearances in the Nashville West and in other California clubs. Thanks to White's superb guitar playing was quickly formed a loyal following.

Nashville West only produced one album, which was also published until eight years after the dissolution of the group ( and in 2003 expanded to include four bonus tracks appeared as a CD). It contains live recordings that have been recorded by Gene Parsons in 1967 at a show in Nashville West Club with a two-track tape recorder. The group disbanded after only a little over a year after White and Parsons had been poached by the Byrds. Gilbeau later joined the Flying Burrito Brothers. Moore worked as a session musician.
