Nasser El Sonbaty

Nasser El Sonbaty (born 15 October 1965 Germany, † March 20, 2013 ) was a professional bodybuilder.

Nasser El Sonbatys father is from Egypt, his mother from the former Yugoslavia. He studied at the University of Augsburg, history, political science and sociology. In 1983 he began bodybuilding. In the 1990s he was able to win victories in international competitions or occupy top positions. At the conference organized by the IFBB Mr. Olympia contest he took part in nine times since 1994, he achieved his greatest success in 1997 with the second place. In the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic he won in 1999.

Nasser wrote articles for fitness magazines and was featured on the front page of the U.S. bodybuilder magazine FLEX. He lived in San Diego, California.

On March 20, 2013 Nasser El Sonbaty died of kidney failure.
