Nathalie Dechy
Nathalie Dechy (born 21 February 1979 in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe ) is a former French tennis player.
Career
Her best Grand Slam result in singles she had in 2005 at the Australian Open by reaching the semifinals, where she defeated Lindsay Davenport in three sets. With Wera Swonarewa she won 2006 doubles tournament of the U.S. Open. In 2007, she successfully defended the title with her former doubles partner Dinara Safina.
20 May 2007 Dechy made with Mara Santangelo their third doubles title at the clay court tournament in Rome (Category I) perfect. Thus they reached Rank 8 on the double world ranking their personal best. 2009, in her last official year on the WTA Tour, she was able to record three more doubles titles.
From 2000 until her retirement in 2009 she was a member of France's Fed Cup team.
Dechy is married to Antoine Maître - Devallon.
