Nathan (prophet)

Natan (Hebrew נתן ) is in the Tanach, the Hebrew Bible, an early prophet of the Israelites, which occurred during the reign of King David. His name is interpreted as a statement: "He [God ] has given ". Reports of it are found in the books of 2 Samuel and 1 Kings.

Natan delivers according to the biblical story of David YHWH response to his plan to build a temple in Jerusalem. He criticized this plan as for the mitziehenden God of nomadic tribes inappropriate, David says but then to eternal throne.
