Nathan Robertson

Nathan James Robertson ( * May 30 1977 in Nottingham ) is an English badminton player.

Career

Robertson's biggest success was winning the silver medal in the Mixed with Gail Emms at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. In the same year, the pair also won the Mixed at the Thailand Open. Together with Emms he won gold in the mixed at the European Championships in Geneva in 2004 and silver at the Commonwealth Games 2006.

In 2005 and 2006 he managed jointly with Gail to win the Badminton Swiss Open in mixed doubles. That was the first time ever in the history of the tournament is that it was a mixed mating to defend the title.

As of July 27, 2006 he is with his partner Gail Emms at No. 5 in the world, this is the best non-Asian Mixed.

On September 24th, 2006 Nathan Robertson won with his partner Gail Emms the final of the Individual World Championship in badminton mixed doubles.

For the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson were qualified in mixed but not set. In the first round they won against the set at position 1 Chinese Gao Ling and Zheng Bo in three sets.

On June 5, 2012, he gave after he failed to qualify for the Olympic Summer Games in London in Mixed, end of his career on Twitter known. Previously, he had still won with his partner Jenny Wallwork the mixed title at the Polish International.
