National Awakening (Iceland)

The Icelandic left -wing populist party people awakening ( Isl Þjóðvaki ) split in 1994 on the Alþýðuflokkurinn.

Started with great expectations for the parliamentary elections in 1995, however, she received only 7.2 % of the vote (4 seats). In 1999, she joined with other groups to then largest opposition bloc together, the Alliance ( Samfylkingin ).
