The National Bank of Serbia (Serbian Narodna Banka Srbije / Народна банка Србије; abbreviation NBS) is the central bank of the Republic of Serbia. Its most important functions are the protection of price stability and the maintenance of financial stability.

The core tasks of the NBS include the definition and implementation of monetary policy, the dinar exchange rate policy, the management of foreign exchange reserves, the issue of banknotes and coins, as well as the maintenance of efficient payment and financial systems.

Last Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Radovan Jelasic was since 2004. He resigned in March 2010 " for personal reasons " back, with commentators saw the reason in rather different views between him and the Serbian government on the monetary policy of the country.

Beginning of August resigned Governor Dejan Šoškić after the government had announced to submit to Parliament a law that would give her more control over the Central Bank.
