National Convention Party (Ghana)

The National Convention Party (NCP ) is a political party in Ghana. By the fourth and current constitution of Ghana in 1992 political parties were once again allowed in Ghana after the military junta of Jerry Rawlings. Among them was the NCP.

Together with the National Democratic Congress (NDC ) and the Party Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere ( EGLE ), the NCP joined together for Progressive Alliance in the parliamentary elections of 1992. In these elections this Alliance won clearly and won 198 of the 200 seats at that time consisting of Ghanaian Parliament. Eight of these 200 seats in parliament accounted for the NCP, the largest party of the Progressive Alliance and the Parliament was the NDC.
